James H. “Jim” Love

James H. “Jim” Love, 70, of Butler passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 29, 1947, in Grove City to the late Ellis W. Love and Margaret Dorcas Kiester Love.

Jim was a graduate of Butler High School. He attended Grove City College, where he received his bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education. Jim worked for the Butler School District for 41 years teaching seventh and eighth grades and ninth- and 10th-grade history and social studies. He coached Butler High School football and enjoyed sports. Jim was Presbyterian.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Love; two sons, Eric James Love of Butler and Michael David Love and his wife, Heidi, of Alexandria, Va.; one stepson, Dustin Petsinger, and his wife, Raylene, of Butler; four grandchildren, Sam Love, Alex Love, Jeffrey Love and Allison Love; three step-grandchildren, Ashton Petsinger, Katelyn Petsinger and Brady Petsinger; one brother, Sam Love, and his wife, MaryAnn; three sisters, Mary Beth Eakin, Marjorie Kingan and her husband, Bill, and Jean Tinker and her husband, Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Eakin.

LOVE — According to the wishes of James H. “Jim” Love, who died Sunday, July 2, 2017, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Butler Football Boosters, P.O.
