Mary Jane Lang
Mary Jane Heller Lang, 80, of Portersville passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler after a short, but brave battle with liver cancer.
Mary Jane was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Claytonia to the late James K. and Ruth Bell Heller. She graduated in 1954 from West Sunbury High School.
She married Edward W. Lang Sr. on May 17, 1968, and was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother for more than 60 years.
Mary Jane was an avid reader, lover of classic country music and loyal NASCAR fan.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah R. Briner and Diane R. Briner McFeaters, both of Butler, and Hope A. Lang Stoner and her husband, Jeff, of Portersville; two sons, Donald J. Briner of Youngstown, Ohio, and Michael L. Briner and his wife, Vicki, of Portersville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward W. Lang Sr.; all of her three sisters, Effy Heller Eakin, Eva Heller Speicher and Donna Heller Michaels; her only brother, James S. Heller; one daughter, Terri L. Briner Gould; and one son, David R. Briner.
The family would like to extend thanks to Mary Jane’s daughter Diane and daughter-in-law Vicki for their wonderful care of Mary Jane at the end of her life. They would also like to thank the staff at the VNA Inpatient Hospice of Butler for their loving care of Mary Jane.
LANG — Services and burial for Mary Jane Heller Lang, who died Friday, July 28, 2017, were private at the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make memorial donations to VNA Inpatient Hospice of Butler.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
