Pamela Eakin
We share with tremendous sadness, the unexpected passing (heart health related) of our very dear friend and aunt, Pamela Anne “Tuna” Eakin, 69, who passed away on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at her residence in Hooker.
Formerly of Boyers, she was born on July 18, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Samuel Hollis “Pops” Eakin and the late Beatrice Burns Eakin.
Tuna graduated in 1970 from Moniteau High School.
She was a very dear friend to many, and will continue to be very much loved and missed by everyone who had the opportunity to share her friendship.
She had been a member of the Valley Dam Sportsman's Snowmobile Association and the West Sunbury American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 243. She also did volunteer work at the VA Medical Center in Butler.
Tuna was a very huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and also NASCAR, hardly ever missing a game or a race! In prior years, she worked at the VA Medical Center as a nutrition and food service worker, Lifesteps, Concordia, and more. Tuna was currently working for Valley Community Services at the house on Halston Road, always taking care of her patients and doing a super job at it, and was loved by all.
Surviving are many friends, several nieces and nephews and her great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Wolinksi and Kay Stevens; an infant brother; two brothers-in-law; a very dear nephew; and a great-great-niece.
