Randy William Muir, 65, of Butler, passed away on Jan. 30, 2022, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 27, 1956, in Oil City, and was the son of the late Orra Muir and the late Hazel Goodman Muir.

Randy graduated from Titusville High School in 1974, and then went on to graduate from Clarion State College, later known as Clarion University, in 1981.

He worked for Calumet Penreco as a boiler operator, retiring in 2016 after working for over 20 years.

Randy was Protestant by faith.

He enjoyed playing guitar in locally known bands, “The New Era” and “Bittersweet.” Randy liked listening to music, traveling, vacationing and playing cards. He loved spending time with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his wife, Joan Muir, whom he married on June 15, 1984; one son, Garrett (Stephanie) Muir of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren, Sawyer Muir and Hudson Muir; one sister, Carol Manning of Missouri; four nieces, Kathy Bennett, Lindsay Prichard, Kayla Langenkamp and Stephanie Bullock; and one nephew, Mike Gormely.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Muir, Gilbert Bigley and Gene Bigley; and one nephew, Robert Gormely.

MUIR — Friends of Randy William Muir, who died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, will be received from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
