Eugene D. “Denny” Knapp, 82, of Ocoee, Fla., formerly of Marwood, passed away Thursday at Inspired Living in Ocoee.

Born Nov. 13, 1935, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Eugene A. Knapp and Amelia A. Miller Knapp.

He retired as a PBX technician from North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. in Gibsonia and worked at Penn Telecom after his retirement.

He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. He also served as a deputy game protector with the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 11 years.

He was a patron life member of the NRA. Denny enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly moose hunting at the Miller Camp in Western Québec, Canada. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pirates.

Surviving are his three children, Bruce D. (Darlene) Knapp of Winter Garden, Fla., Jean M. Walker of Orlando, Fla. and David D. (Kathy Massa) Knapp of Thornton, Colo.; his brothers, Brian D. Knapp of Renfrew and Regis D. Knapp of Alto, Ga.; his sister, Janice A. Knapp of Saxonburg; nine grandchildren, Matthew Knapp, Kathleen “Katie” (Dalton) Wilson, Jonathan “JD” Knapp, Logan Knapp, Matthew (Kassie) Walker, Tyler Walker, Patrick Walker, Megan Massa and Lauren Massa; and four great-grandchildren, Audrey Walker, Claire Walker, Jaxon Wolf and Mia Wolf.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Audrey J. Knapp; and his brother, Terrence “Terry” Knapp.

KNAPP — Friends of Eugene D. “Denny” Knapp, who died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg, with services to follow immediately at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Hannahstown.
