McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, just over the county line into Lawrence County off Route 422, will be the site of a Gristmill Greeter Training Day from 9 to 11 a.m. May 19.

Star Parties, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, will begin at about 8:45 p.m. May 18 and 19, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park, near the village of Russellton, Frazer Township, Allegheny County. Call 724-224-2510.
