Jack C. Lasswell Jr.

Jack C. Lasswell Jr., 75, of Zelienople passed away Friday while under the care of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Feb. 1, 1942, in Peoria, Ill., he was the son of the late Norma and Fred Artzberger.

Jack was a faithful member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, serving on session, performing with the church drama team and singing in the choir.

He acted in several of the Red Barn productions over the span of many years. He enjoyed teaching gun safety. He was especially enthusiastic about his participation as a re-enactor of the French and Indian, Revolutionary and Civil wars.

Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Mary Ann Johns Lasswell of Zelienople; his children, Chris Lasswell of Seattle, Wash., Andrew Lasswell of Pittsburgh, Mary Elizabeth (Brady) Caverly of Pasadena, Calif., Laura Smith of Bradenton, Fla., and Rebecca (Rob) Densmore of Saxonburg; his eight grandchildren; his sister, Roxanne Kruger of Verona; his brother, Jeffrey Artzberger of California; and several nieces and nephews.

LASSWELL — A celebration of life for Jack C. Lasswell Jr., who died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Connie Frierson officiating.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Memorial contributions in Jack's honor may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
