BUTLER TWP — A Butler County commissioner candidate forum will be Wednesday at the Succop Theater in Butler County Community College.

The first session at 5:30 p.m. will be for the four Democratic candidates: Incumbent Commissioner Jim Eckstein, Kevin Boozel, Dave Johnston and Jerry Johnston.

The second session at 7:30 p.m. will be for the 10 Republican candidates: James Butler, Kim Geyer, Jim Keffalas, Mark Lux, Lisa Metcalfe, Bob O'Neill, Leslie Osche, Jeff Smith, Larry Thompson and Justin Trainor.

The candidates are seeking one of two nominations for each party in the May 19 primary.

The event is co-sponsored by the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, the Butler Eagle and Armstrong.

Stan Kosciuszko, chamber president, said the forum is an opportunity for businesses and the public to learn about who the candidates are and what their stances are.

“It's important for everybody to vote and examine candidates' positions,” he said.
