Ruth Wueschinski

Ruth Wueschinski

Ruth Wueschinski of Saxonburg passed from the caring hands of Saxony Health Center into God's loving arms Monday. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Alice Ishman Carpino. She was a loving wife of the late George Wueschinski.

I'm her daughter, Melanie, and I'm writing this and she's my mom, so I won't call her Ruth.

She was a wonderful and loving Mom to me and my brothers. She would never let anyone leave without giving them a hug, which now I find myself doing, a good thing since everyone I know can use a hug now and then. I can't believe I won't see her again until I get to heaven, but I have a lot of memories and lots of her love imprinted in my mind for now.

She loved playing cards with friends and family and then scrabble with George, before her illness came. Mom was famous for her pies, which led her to owning and running Ruth Marie's Pie out of her mobile home. She had a thriving business and delivered to many local businesses. It was very common for her to make a hundred pies or more a day. She was a cook at several places before starting her own thriving company and making all the pies on her own. She would make them and then she and George would deliver them together.

She was preceded in death by her husband George. She leaves behind four children, Dale (Tanya) Steele of Slate Lick; Michael (Ann) Steele of Ford City; myself, Melanie (Lenny) Witmer of Saxonburg, and Lori Thomas, who is like my sister, of Saxonburg. Also left behind are two sisters, Debby (Rich) Lloyd of Distant and Peggy (Bill) Horner of Oliveburg. She was a loving grandma to seven grandchildren, Shawnee, Dawson, Kaylee, Alyssa, Dylan, Colton and Dakota.
