[naviga:h3]Art center opens ‘Tilt’[/naviga:h3]
Collectors are showing their pinball machines in “Tilt” at the Butler Art Center.
The display opens with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The movie “Tommy” about a “pinball wizard” will be played continuously. Music by Lo-Fi Delphi and refreshments are planned.
Machines will be available to play on Friday and again on April 5. Visitors can play the vintage machines for a small fee.
A tournament is planned for April 6, after which the display will be over. There will be one-, two- and four-person competitions.
Otherwise, the exhibit will be on display during regular hours at the Art Center, 344 S. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays, except holidays.

Soprano and Slippery Rock University professor of music Colleen Gray is to perform at 7 p.m. April 9 in the Haven I Dining Room at Concordia Haven, 112 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township.
She has performed extensively in Europe and the United States.

Opus I Music Society awards annual scholarships totaling $1,000 to students from Mars, Pine-Richland, Seneca Valley and Knoch school districts, and applications are now being accepted.
Entrants must be a sophomore or junior in college with a major or minor in music.

Recipients will be expected to play at the Honors Recital May 5 at LifePointe Alliance Church, Route 228, Adams Township.
[naviga:h3]Folk band plans benefit[/naviga:h3]
Butler-based country folk band Appalachian Doom Gospel has organized a benefit show for area resident Dana Hare, who was recently diagnosed with stage four colon, liver, and lung cancer.
The show on April 27 will also feature performances by Good Ole Ernie, Bonnie and The Mere Mortals, and Tom Pappas.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Butler Art Center, 344 S. Main St.
Admission is $10, and all proceeds will benefit Hare and her family.

A murder mystery dinner being held May 18 at The Atrium in Franklin Township as a fundraiser for Leadership Butler County has sold out.
[naviga:h3]Paranormal conference set[/naviga:h3]
The Butler Organization for Research of the Unexplained and the Center for Unexplained Events will host the 12th annual Butler Paranormal Conference April 6 at Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $15.

[naviga:h3]Architecture exhibit to open[/naviga:h3]
Carnegie Museum of Art will host a new exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, opening May 4.
The exhibition contains the work of more than half of the architects who have won this prize, including the 2019 recipient, Arata Isozaki.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except closed Tuesdays. Extended hours are until 8 p.m. most Thursdays.
