SLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate Tyler Frederick produced 20 points and 16 rebounds Saturday, but the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team dropped a 92-83 decision to California (Pa.) at Morrow Field House.
Sixteen of Frederick’s 20 rebounds were on the offensive glass. The double-double was his sixth of the season. SRU fell to 10-6 overall, 6-4 in league play with the loss.
Amante Britt paced The Rock with 23 points and five assists. Jonathan McFall had 15 points and six rebounds off the bench. Bobby Clifford contributed 14 points and three assists off the bench as well.
Philip Alston led California (14-4, 9-3) with 26 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
SRU looks to snap a three-game losing streak Monday night at Edinboro.
California (Pa.) 66, SRU (women) — Jamiyah Johnson registered her 15th double-double of the year, producing 14 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for The Rock (10-6, 5-5). Deleah Gibson added eight points.
The Vulcans (11-3, 6-3) scored 40 points off turnovers to SRU’s two. The Rock had 30 turnovers on the day.
The Rock plays Monday at Gannon.
Prince George CC 116, Butler County Community College 54 — Julian Sanks scored 26 points for the Pioneers, who slipped to 2-12 on the year. Troy Loughry had seven rebounds.
Prince George CC 74, Butler County Community College (women) 51 — Aslyn Pry scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Pioneers (6-7). Emma Monteleone and Hailey Metzger added 10 points each.
