Kelly will run for re-election in 2018
U.S. Congressman Mike Kelly, R-3rd District, announced Tuesday he will seek a fifth term in the House of Representatives.
“For four consecutive elections I have been entrusted to represent the people of Pennsylvania's Third District in the halls of Congress,” Kelly said in a news release. “ ... As a member of the distinguished Ways and Means Committee, I have had the privilege of being at the forefront of the most pressing debates impacting our entire country, including tax reform and health care reform. From this platform I remain in an influential position to fight for my most important priority: securing a stronger economy and higher take-home pay for my constituents and for all Americans.”
Kelly had been considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2018.
“There are critical fights ahead which will require all of my energy and focus,” the news release said. “ ... I am truly grateful for the outpouring of support from so many of my fellow Pennsylvanians as I have carefully deliberated the best path forward and come to this decision.”
