The Butler County Board of Commissioners at their Wednesday meeting:

- Approved the purchase of four infrared, full-body scanners. Two will be placed in the government center entrance and two at the Butler County Prison. Allegheny Safe and Lock, which had the low quote of $65,920, will install the scanners. The project was funded using the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant received by the county.

- Approved a price quote of more than $244,000 in CARES funds to have documents and other items now on microfilm, microfiche and 35 mm film at the prothonotary’s office converted to digital files that can be viewed online. Prothonotary Kelly Ferrari said some files on microfilm date back to 1807. She said there are 1,890,000 images on film and 6 million on microfiche. Higher Information Group, which quoted the price, said they would have the project completed by Dec. 30.
