Butler's state police Troop D spent the weekend targeting drivers under the influence of alcohol and other substances throughout Butler and Armstrong counties.
Of the 370 arrests, 52 were DUI-related. Hundreds of traffic citations and warnings also were handed out.
Additionally, a combined $17,000 was seized from two drivers in Beaver County, according to police. The drivers were stopped for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana.
The initiative, which was conducted Saturday and Sunday, was held in cooperation with the Bureau of Patrol, Bureau of Liquor Control and municipal police agencies to address DUI-related crashes and deaths.
An Asset Forfeiture unit with state police will test the money for drug particulates, police said. If the results yield enough drugs, the money may be confiscated.
The Pennsylvania State Police has graduated its 156th cadet class, adding 98 cadets to stations across the state.Chad K. Krumpe of Butler County will be joining Troop D, which is based out of Butler. A state police spokesman said he didn’t have information to share on Krumpe yet.Additionally, Butler County residents will be joining other troop stations. Troop P, Towanda will have their ranks bolstered with William E. Shreve. Zachary C. Swartz will be joining Troop H, Gettysburg. Brandon D. Marshall is going to Troop B, Washington and Clinton. L. Deemer will be heading to Troop C, Punxsutawney.Earlier this year, the agency graduated one if its biggest classes with 104 cadets in the 155th class.
