Ruth Ann Stirling

Ruth Ann Stirling, 79, of Butler passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital after contracting the COVID-19 virus.

Born Oct. 28, 1941, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Naneff) Madish.

Ruth was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and family was very important to her. A homemaker, she was also the longtime bookkeeper and secretary for her husband's business, Gary L. Stirling Painting.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gary, whom she married July 29, 1961.

Also surviving are her son, Gary Jr. (Rusty) and his wife, Maria; six sisters, Nancy Cindrich of Monaca, Rosemary (Brian) Barker of Tennessee, Susan Davis of Monaca, Shirley (Jim) Shaffer of Beaver Falls, Diane Chirico of Beaver, and Julie (Wayne) Gibson of Chippewa Township; one brother, Nick Madish of Beaver; a sister-in-law, Peggy Madish of Industry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Madish Jr. and John Madish; two brothers-in-law, Chi Davis and Frank Chirico; and her nephew, Paul Davis.

STIRLING — There will be no public visitation for Ruth Ann Stirling, who died Friday, Aug. 6, 2021.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family

A private burial will take place at North Washington Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
