Missing buck head now a police matter
The woman whose trophy deer head went missing from a local processor Monday filed a police report Wednesday.
Abby Hiles, 19, of Karns City harvested a 12-point buck with a unique rack, featuring a downturned brow tine on its left side.
“At first we thought the game commission could help us,” she said.
But the game commission advised her to file a report with the Butler State Police Department, according to Abby Hiles.
“We haven’t heard anything yet,” Wanda Hiles, the mother of the hunter, said.
Wanda Hiles said she believes the police do have a person of interest. But the family has heard many rumors since the incident and nothing is certain.
“You don’t know how much of it is true,” she said.
