Osche, Johnston spent most in final month of county race
In the weeks before the Nov. 3 election, the five candidates for Butler County commissioner continue to raise and spend money on their campaigns.
Republicans Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer, Democrats Jerry Johnston and Kevin Boozel, and the Green Party’s Michael Bagdes-Canning competed for the three county commissioner seats. Osche, Geyer and Boozel won.
Osche of Butler Township raised the most and spent the most. She raised $7,240 in the reporting period, and spent $10,800. She also brought nearly $9,000 forward from the previous reporting period.
Johnston spent the second most, $9,527, and most of it went to pay the campaign committee’s debt.
The Friends of Kim Geyer raised $3,450, and brought forth $5,906 from the last reporting period. It spent $7,440.
Boozel spent $2,077, but he raised $3,305 during the period.
Michael 2015 raised $931, and brought forth $1,934 from the last reporting period. It spent $2,865, and has no money left.
Osche and Geyer campaigned together sometimes, and a separate committee for both candidates raised $5,550 and spent $3,712.
The deadline to turn in the financial campaign reports was Thursday. They covered Oct. 20 to Nov. 23.
