Woman trapped after two-vehicle collision
One person was taken to the hospital with injuries Saturday night in a two-car collision on the 600 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. about one-half mile south of Route 422, and it left one of the drivers, a woman, trapped in her car, said Rob McLafferty, chief of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company.
Firefighters had to remove the driver's side door to get the woman out. She was conscious and alert. An East Butler Ambulance service crew tended to her before she was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
The other driver, a man, was apparently not injured.
State police are investigating, but an accident report was not immediately available.
The crash closed a portion of the road for about an hour. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed.
The East Butler Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
