Sarah Chobot and David Hokanson

A June 28, 2009, wedding is being planned by Sarah Chobot of Philadelphia and David Hokanson of Ithaca, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Stephen and Jayne Chobot of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Thomas and Helen Hokanson of Florence, S.C., and the late Judith Hokanson.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School and a 2005 graduate of Boston University. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Her fiancé graduated in 1998 from Fairmont High School and in 2002 from Ohio University. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biophysics in 2008 and is a postdoctoral researcher for Cornell University in Ithaca.
