Barbara Petanovich

Barbara Ann Petanovich, 73, of Butler, passed away on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 31, 1948, in Butler, she was raised by the late Edward Broda and Mildred Backus Broda Hartley.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Butler Senior High School.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the Bell Choir, the Outreach Committee and Faithful Friends.

Barbara shared a passion for crafting with her daughter-in-law and loved traveling with her son. She was happiest when her toes were in the sand. She instilled her joy and compassion for pets to all of her kids and grandchildren, all who felt her love in every holiday and birthday card. The sight of humming birds and flamingos will forever evoke her memory to those of us touched by her light.

Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 34 years, Frederick Norman Petanovich, whom she married on March 28, 1987; her daughters, Sheri (Javier) Robayo of Clinton, Conn. and Lori Petanovich of Butler; her daughter-in-law, Melinda Wilbert, and Curtis Wilbert of Butler, who passed away shortly after his mother; her grandchildren, Matthew, Haley, Caitlyn, Kendra, Amber, Jadyn, Gavin and Tyson; her great- grandson, Wyatt; her siblings, Tom Brink, Robert Moncey, Mary Moncey and Linda (David) Michel, all of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Marcia Moncey.
