Judge William ShafferThe following sentences were handed down by county Judge William Shaffer on Thursday:Grant E. Young, 29, of Butler was sentenced to three years of probation and a $75 fine for possession of drug paraphernalia and making repairs to an offensive weapon. Young was charged Sept. 20, 2018, and pleaded guilty on July 22.Devin J. Goehring, 19, of Butler was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days of house arrest on electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. He must also pay a $1,000 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. He was charged Jan. 26, 2018, and pleaded guilty on June 21. In a second case, he was sentenced to five years of intermediate punishment with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. He must also pay a $1,500 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. He was charged Aug. 13, 2018, and pleaded guilty on June 21.Brian Lin Perani, 45, of Chicora was sentenced to five months of intermediate punishment with the first year on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence and careless driving. He must also serve 200 hours of community service and pay $1,525 in fines. Perani was charged Oct. 2, 2018, and pleaded guilty on July 10.John Campbell, 55, of Greensburg was sentenced to time served to six months in jail and one year of probation for disorderly conduct and defiant trespass. Campbell received credit for time served, allowing him to be immediately paroled. Campbell was charged Nov. 27, 2018, and pleaded guilty on Aug. 22.Andrew M. Augustyniak-Duncan, 24, of Carnegie was sentenced to three months to one year in jail and one year of probation for recklessly endangering another person. Augustyniak-Duncan received credit for time already served, allowing him to be immediately paroled. He must also pay a $500 fine. He was charged Feb. 20 and pleaded guilty on Aug. 13.Dwayne E. Evans, 51, of New Castle was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment for driving under the influence. He must also serve 60 hours of community service and pay a $300 fine. Evans was charged Jan. 4 and pleaded guilty on July 19.Anthony M. Kovocovsky Jr., 56, of Cabot was sentenced to six months of intermediate punishment with the first 14 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring for driving under the influence. Kovocovsky must also pay a $1,000 fine and serve 60 hours of community service. Kovocovsky was charged April 1 and pleaded guilty on July 1.Jeffrey B. Taylor, 40, of Butler was sentenced to one year of probation for possession of a controlled substance. He was charged Jan. 22 and pleaded guilty on Aug. 5. In a second case, Taylor was sentenced to four years of probation for accessing device issued to another person without authorization. Taylor was charged Jan. 30 and pleaded guilty on Aug. 5. The two sentences are being served simultaneously.
