MERIDIAN — PALMS (Preschoolers and Loving Mothers) will begin meeting Oct. 5 in the church hall of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road.

CABOT — St. Luke's Church, 314 Hannastown Road, will host an attic sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, which also is bargain day.Lunch will be available.

The Little Red School House and Heritage Center will open for tours Saturday during Butler's Fall Festival.The school house will be open from noon to 3 p.m. for visitors to learn about early education in Butler County.The Heritage Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for visitors to see the miniature Jay Bee Circus and learn about other Butler County inventions like the jeep and industries such as oil and steel.

PENN TWP — The GFWC Penn Township Woman's Club will host a fashion show and lunch Sept. 25 at the Butler Country Club, 310 Country Club Lane.Doors will open at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. The event also will include a basket auction. Proceeds benefit the club's scholarship fund.For information, call 724-482-2831.

LYNDORA — A train show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.The event is sponsored by and benefits the Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center. For information, call Kate at 724-287-5648.

The Slippery Rock and Harrisville volunteer fire companies will hold a Sportsman's Night cash and gun raffle starting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Harrisville Fire Hall, 313 E. Mercer St.

EVANS CITY — A cornhole tournament will start at 1 p.m. Saturday at Evans City VFW Post 499, 408 N. Washington St., to benefit Ray Caruso of Evans City, who was injured in an accident.The $20 admission price includes the tournament, beer, food and entertainment. Participants must be signed in by 1:30 p.m. to play in the tournament.
