SRU women top West Liberty, 89-74, for 3rd consecutive victory
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Brooke Hinderliter scored a career-high 29 points Wednesday as the Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team won its third straight game, 89-74, at West Liberty.
The Rock (3-2) is one win away from matching its longest winning streak in the past 16 years.
SRU took a two-point lead into the fourth quarter before outscoring the Hilltoppers 26-13 over the final 10 minutes.
Hinderliter, a Redbank Valley graduate, sank 12 of 14 shots from the field, grabbed six rebounds and had four assists. Ciara Patterson contributed 21 points, eight rebounds and a steal.
Madison Johnson had 12 points for SRU while Karns City graduate LeeAnn Gibson tallied six points and six rebounds.
The Rock shot a season-best 47.3 percent from the field, hit 15 of 17 free throws and committed only nine turnovers.
SRU goes after its fourth straight win Saturday, hosting Walsh at 1 p.m.
