[naviga:h3]Butler Health System hires new COO[/naviga:h3]

The Butler Health System has hired a new chief operating officer to replace Stephanie Roskovski, who is under federal investigation for misappropriating administrative funds while working as the health system's COO.

Jason Sciarro began his job as COO on Monday.

Sciarro most recently worked as president and COO of Centegra Health System in the northern Chicago and southern Wisconsin market.

His previous work experience also includes administrative roles, including a COO position at University Hospital/SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y.

Sciarro holds a bachelor's degree in business from Geneva College in Beaver Falls and a master's degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse.

At Butler Health System, Sciarro will be responsible for a number of clinical and support areas and will focus on business development and the ongoing growth and performance of the health system's physician network.

Sciarro and his wife, Amy, are Western Pennsylvania natives.

[naviga:h3]JetBlue is raising fees on baggage[/naviga:h3]

DALLAS — JetBlue Airways is raising fees for checking a bag or changing a ticket, a move that could prompt other airlines to raise their fees.

New York-based JetBlue posted the increases online. They apply for all trips booked on or after Monday.

Passengers who buy the lowest of JetBlue’s three fare classes for tickets will pay $30 to check a bag and $40 for a second bag, a $5 increase for each bag.

American, Delta and United still charge $25 for the first bag and $35 for the second, with exceptions for elite customers and those who use an airline-branded credit card. Southwest is the only large U.S. carrier that lets any passenger check up to two bags for free.

Airline fees have taken off since 2008, when American Airlines introduced a $15 checked-bag fee to help offset high fuel prices.
