George Raiders Sr.

George T. Raiders Sr., 80, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021.

He was born March 20, 1941, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late John and Frances Raiders.

George was known to be hardworking and family oriented. He was a bartender at the Original Oyster House for over 48 years.

George was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved and will be missed by all.

George also enjoyed fishing, watching the Steelers and Pitt Panthers, and the outdoors.

He was the father of Gloria Jackson and George T. (Michelle) Raiders Jr.; brother of Shirley (Frank) Hill, Carl Raiders, Frank Raiders, Millie Galazka, Julie Medfisch and Mary Ann (Robert) Hagmaier; grandfather of Christopher Cunningham, Daniel Cunningham, Ashley Raiders and Samantha (Matt) Zabicki; great-grandfather of Hannah, Audra, Braden, Cole and Liam; and great- great-grandfather of Katerina and Camilla.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Raiders; his sister, Josephine Machi; his son-in-law, Tobie Jackson; three brothers-in-law, Andrew Machi, Steve Galazka and Joseph Medfisch; his granddaughter, Colleen Cunningham; and his great-grandson, Noah Cunningham.

RAIDERS — Friends of George T. Raiders Sr., who died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
