Rays nip Astros in ALCS
SAN DIEGO — Mike Zunino delivered a tiebreaking RBI single in the fifth inning Sunday night as the Tampa Bay Rays edged the Houston Astros, 2-1, in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.
Jose Altuve homered in the first inning for the Astros’ lone run.
Tampa Bay DH Randy Arozarena tied the game with a homer in the fourth.
Blake Snell worked five innings, striking out two for the win. Framber Valdez was the hard-luck loser for Houston, pitching six innings and striking out eight.
