VENANGO TWP — A northern Butler County woman is accused of withdrawing more than $7,000 from her boyfriend's bank account without his permission.

State police allege Stephanie M. Yohe, 29, of Allegheny Township used the money to pay off her credit card debt.

Police on Monday arrested Yohe on a pair of felony charges. She is being held in Butler County Prison on a state parole violation, authorities said.

Investigators earlier that day spoke to the victim, who contacted authorities to report “money being withdrawn from a business account,” according to court documents.

He told police that he obtained an account summary last week and noticed his credit card was used between April 11, 2017, and Jan. 2 to make a number of transactions totaling $7,781.25.

The victim, police said, identified Yohe as having access to his account. But, he noted, she did not have his authority to make those transactions under dispute.

Police spoke to Yohe at her home. She admitted to using the victim's bank account “to pay off credit debt,” documents said. She also claimed she had his permission to use the account.

But after being taken to the barracks for a formal interview, according to a police affidavit, she told investigators she “mistakenly used (the victim's) banking account multiple time(s) due to it being set as (her) default.”

Yohe was arraigned Monday on felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and identity theft. She was given a $1 nominal bond in the case but remains in the county jail for the parole violation.

Her preliminary hearing is set for May 1 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
