Giron

Breanne Giron graduated from Indiana (Pa.) University recently, receiving a bachelor of science degree in nursing.While at IUP, she was named to the Dean's List and was named a Provost Scholar and recipient of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Foundation Nursing Grant.She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for nursing and was involved in the IUP Red Cross Club, where she served as an officer and blood drive coordinator. Giron also belonged to the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania and the National Student Nurse Association.She is the daughter of Greg and Annette Schoch of Salina and Jeff Giron of Chicora.Giron has accepted a position in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.———

<B>Joyce Shannon</B> received a Juris Doctorate from Florida State University recently.While at the university, she was selected to serve on a mock trial team, where she served as vice president. <B>Alaine Pappert</B> graduated magna cum laude from Slippery Rock University recently, receiving a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.While at the university, she was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and was inducted in the Golden Key International Honor Society.The daughter of Daniel and Joyce Pappert of Mars, she is a 2003 graduate of Mars High School.———<B>Justin Cooper</B> graduated from the University of Pittsburgh recently, earning a master's degree in social work and a licensed certification.The son of Jim and Janet Cooper of Butler, he is a 1992 graduate of Butler High School and a 1996 graduate of Penn State University.Cooper is employed as a therapist for Family Services of Butler MemorialHospital.He resides in Butler with his wife Jessica Cooper. They have two daughters.———

<B>Kristen Henry</B> graduated from Carnegie Mellon University recently with a 4.0 grade point average and degrees in chemical engineering and biomedical engineering.Henry graduated with honors by completing an honors research project titled "Directing Cell Fate Using Ink Jet Printing." Henry was named the top graduate from the College of Chemical Engineering and received the American Institute of Chemists Foundation Award.While at the university, she served as recording secretary, scholarship representative and Rho Sigma recruitment sister for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She also served as secretary-treasurer of Rho Lambda, secretary of the Order of Omega, treasurer and social chair of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, selection chairperson of Lambda Sigma, freshman orientation counselor and member of the Society of Women Engineers.Henry was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Phi and Mortar Board national honors societies. She was named to the Dean's List each semester and received a Senior Leadership Award, Division of Student Affairs Outstanding Service Award and Chemical Engineering Alumni Scholarship.She also participated in tissue regeneration research and completed an internship in the Advanced Technologies Division of Johnson and Johnson Consumer Products.The daughter of Larry and Grace Henry, she is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.Henry has accepted a position in chemical engineering with the Automation and Optimization Department of Exxon Mobile in Fairfax, Va.———

<B>Colby King </B>graduated summa cum laude from Westminster College recently, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.While at the college, he completed an honors project titled "Too Much Politics or Too Much Beer: Investigating Cultural Interaction in a Mixed American Indian and Caucasian Community." He was also a member of the Lambda Sigma, Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, Pi Sigma Pi, Pi Sigma Alpha and Alpha Kappa Delta honors societies.King also served as a resident assistant for two years, was a founding member of the Sierra Student Coalition, and served as president and secretary of the coalition.He served as secretary and treasurer of the Campus Green Party, treasurer of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honorary and representative in the student government association for three years. King was also an active member in Amnesty International, Model United Nations and Intramural Basketball.He has completed internships with the Kucinich for President Campaign of 2004, and the Lawrence Conservation District.A 2003 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he is the son of Bill and Belinda King.He is currently employed as a lifeguard at Moraine Camplands Association and as a server at Elephant & Castle.This fall, he will begin an assistantship at the University of South Carolina in the Sociology programs.
