Man pleads to break-in incident
A Butler man pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal mischief in Butler County Court, after being charged with breaking into a home and staying there.
Jonathan J. Dillingham, 25, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge before President Judge Thomas Doerr.
The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 6 months of county probation, restitution, community service — which he already completed — and court costs when he is sentenced April 19.
Dillingham was also initially charged with felony criminal trespass, which will be dismissed as part of the plea.
State police said Dillingham and his girlfriend, Alicia R. Peters, 25, of Butler, forced their way into a house on West Old Route 422 in Franklin Township Jan. 26.
They told police they knew the victim who lives at the home, and stayed there until he provided them a ride to Butler.
The owner of the house, the next morning, turned over a backpack that Peters had left there, according to court documents. A search of the back pack contained 33.6 grams of marijuana that was inside a Mason jar.
Online court papers were unavailable for Peters.
