BHS grads awarded scholarships

BUTLER TWP — Scholarships valued at $6,617 have been awarded to the two 2011 Butler High School graduates with the highest grade point averages among those attending post-secondary schools.

The Roseanne and Jane Cavalero Scholarships were accepted by Brianna Christy and Nicholas Legacy. Brianna is the daughter of Ryan and Heidi Christy of Butler, and Nicholas is the son of Thomas and Nevada Legacy, also of Butler.

Brianna will be a political science major at the University of Michigan and Nicholas will be an engineering major at Penn State Behrend.

The annual scholarships are distributed through the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, and are awarded to one male and one female Butler High School graduate.
