Harry L. “Lenny” Surrena of Butler, formerly of Jefferson Township, was called home to be with his Savior after a brief illness Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1949, in Marion Township, Mr. Surrena was the son of Ray Elwood Surrena and Edith Louise Croy Surrena.

He married Joyce Ann Warner on Nov. 29, 1974, and she preceded him in death.He married Sandra Patton on May 5, 2012. She survives.A graduate of Franklin High School, Lenny was a retired over-the-road truck driver.He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Air Force Reserve, and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.Lenny enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and traveling. He was known to take the back road to every destination, even if it added a day to the trip. Lenny also enjoyed walking the local trails daily, and driving around with their dog, Sophie.In addition to his wife, Sandra, Mr. Surrena is survived by his daughters, Melinda (William) Boyles of Franklin, and Teresa (Paul) Gilbert of Mercer; his sons, Martin (Glenda) Hoffman of Shelbyville, Tenn., and David Surrena (Jennifer) of Meadville; two stepsons, Timothy (Jamie) Frayer of Meadville, and David Patton of Butler; a brother, Richard Surrena of Harrisville; a sister, Sharon (Harry) Moyer of Slippery Rock; six stepsiblings; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.In addition to his first wife, Joyce, he was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tamera Jo Hoffman Penney and Tamara Lee Surrena; and his grandson, Timothy Hile.SURRENA — The family of Harry L. “Lenny” Surrena, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Adam Devine presiding.Interment will be in Findley Cemetery, Findley Township, Mercer County.
