Motorcylist taken to hospital after accident on Turnpike

CRANBERRY TWP — A man was hospitalized after he crashed into the rear-end of another vehicle around 6 p.m. Friday on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Cranberry Township firefighters said traffic on the westbound lanes of the turnpike were slowed around 5:45 p.m. near the 26.2 mile marker due to a separate minor accident.

Firefighters said while traffic was slowed a man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle rear-ended another vehicle.

Firefighters said the rider was conscious as he was taken to Allegheny General Hospitals for suspected wrist and ankle fractures.

Traffic was restricted while both crashes were cleaned and cleared. The road reopened to two lanes at about 7 p.m.
