The Rev. Tara Lynn, the pastor of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has accepted the position of a pastor for a congregation in Wexford. Her final service will be Aug. 2.

Lynn took over Jan. 1, 2015, at the Lutheran Church. The church had been without a full-time pastor since the Rev. Don Short left in 2012.

Lynn was born and raised in Lancaster County and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in social work. While working with teenage girls and intellectually and physically challenged children in Pittsburgh, “I felt a strong calling to be a Lutheran minister,” she said.

“It has been my great joy over these past five plus hears to get to know each of you, your passions, your organizations and the wonderful work you are doing to make Butler an incredible place,” Lynn said.

The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute, which is the educational and training arm of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, elected Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger to be the group's president for the 2020-21 business year.“The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute is committed to providing high-quality education and training programs to help district attorneys, law enforcement and victim services counselors best serve their communities,” Goldinger said. “I am honored by the confidence of my fellow prosecutors and committed to continuing the institute's tradition of offering timely topics to ensure the integrity of the criminal justice system.”Goldinger is a previous president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, and he has been involved with the criminal justice system for over 20 years, including private practice, criminal defense and prosecution.He was elected as the county's District Attorney in 2007.
