U.S. marshals have captured a man suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend's 8-year-old son Monday night in northwestern Lawrence County.

Keith Burley Jr., 43, of Edinburg was arrested around 8:30 a.m. today in Youngstown, Ohio, authorities said,

He was placed in the Mahoning County Jail on an arrest warrant obtained by state police in New Castle.

Burley is charged with homicide, aggravated assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

Police had been looking for the defendant since around 10:35 p.m. Monday following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend that began in her vehicle in New Castle.

The woman was able to get out, and Burley drove away in the vehicle occupied by her two children, ages 8 and 7.

Burley later stabbed the older boy in nearby Union Township, west of New Castle, and fled.

The younger child managed to run to a neighbor's home for help.
