Artwork by third graders in Lauren Shorr's classes at Center Township Elementary School in the Butler School District is part of the Regional Elementary Art Show at the Butler Art Center.

The reception for the Regional Elementary School Art Show will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Butler Art Center.

Awards will be presented at the reception. A trophy for the best school participation is planned.Approximately 200 pieces of artwork have been received from area elementary school students.

The show is for students in public, private or cyber schools or those who are home-schooled.

The exhibit will continue through Feb. 10.The Regional Middle and High School Art Show will take place Feb. 21 to March 3.The Art Center at 344 S. Main St. is open regularly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays, except holidays.Art Center admission is free. Flower art at the Regional Elementary Art Show is by fourth graders at Sugarcreek and Chicora elementary schools in the Karns City School District. The student artists are in Chelsea Grubbs class.
