Butler senior Maddie Tonini gets her running in during a recent track practice held in the hallways of the Butler Intermediate School.
Mother Goose.
That is how Butler senior Maddie Tonini is affectionately known to her freshman teammates on the Golden Tornado’s 4x400 meter relay team.
During her freshman year, Tonini joined Odile Enslen, Shana Hoy and Emily Horstman on the Tornado 4x400 relay that was fastest in the county. She also had the fourth-fastest time in the county in the 400 meters.
Tonini is more than the senior member on the 4x400 this year. She is perhaps the biggest fan of the two freshmen running with Simms and herself.
She is headed to West Virginia University in the fall and plans to major in health information management.
Read why the team calls Tonini Mother Goose an how she reinvented herself in Tuesday’s Butler Eagle.
