John Lipke Sr.
John Joseph Lipke Sr., 75, of Butler Township, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Shannon Edward Lipke Sr., and Claire Jonnet Lipke.
John worked for Vogel Disposal Service for 30 years. He attended the New Testament Baptist Church in Butler. John was member of the Butler American Legion Post 117. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his scooter, going four-wheeling and spending time outdoors, especially while camping. Above all, John was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Scott J. (Beverly) Lipke Sr., of Renfrew, John J. (Edna) Lipke Jr., of Middleport, Ohio, and Meganne Gregory and her significant other, Sam Sosack of Evans City; nine grandchildren, Christine, Jolene, Scott Jr., Kara, Amber, Jessi, Ashley, Samuel, and Madelynn; eight great-grandchildren, Lilly, Drystan, Adam, Riley, Brianna, Brooklyn, Ayden, Olivia, and a great-granddaughter on the way; and his brother, David Lipke of Gibsonia.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Shannon Edward Lipke Jr.; and his grandson, Zachary, who passed away seven years ago.
Lipke Sr. — Friends and family of John Joseph Lipke Sr., who died Friday, April 30, 2021, will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
