Butler police Sunday arrested four men for felony drug possession and seized suspected crack cocaine, heroin, prescription pills, marijuana and more than $7,000 in cash.

The arrests followed several calls for drug activity at a home at 105 Elm Court, city police said.

Charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy are Ross M. Cammisa, 35, of Butler; Guy D. Wallar Jr., 20, of Pittsburgh; Brandon D. McCaskill, 23, of Duquesne; and Isaiah Harden, 21, of McKeesport.

All four defendants are also charged with misdemeanor drug possession.

Cammisa, McCaskill and Wallar are in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail each. Harden is jailed on $50,000 bail.

Police said officers went to the home about 5 p.m. and smelled marijuana and saw suspected marijuana smoke coming from open windows.

Cammisa, who lives there, was found outside. He was already wanted on a warrant for failing to appear at a court hearing in an unrelated misdemeanor drug case.

He admitted there were other people inside the house. Police looked into the home through an open door, according to court documents, and saw several others “panicking and attempting to avoid contact with police.”

Officers went inside and noticed drug paraphernalia in the kitchen, police said, and a baggie of suspected crack on the coffee table in the living room.

Six people were found in the home. Of those, police said, Wallar and McCaskill were found in back bedrooms and Harden was in the basement “discarding baggies of crack cocaine” that he was holding.

Police detained everyone and got a search warrant for the home.

Wallar was searched and found with $5,002 in currency and five Xanax pills in the corner of a baggie that he had hidden on himself, documents said.

Xanax is the brand name for alprazolam and is commonly prescribed to treat anxiety.

A search of McCaskill turned up $2,328 in currency, police said, and Cammisa had two empty stamp bags of suspected marijuana in a pants pocket. Harden was allegedly carrying a baggie containing multiple marijuana cigarettes.

During a search of the home, police said, officers seized 11 stamp bags of suspected heroin in the bedroom area where they had found Wallar and McCaskill.

Preliminary hearings for the defendants are set for April 2.

Cammisa is already awaiting trial on charges he and two others, including his sister, were using the same home to operate a methamphetamine lab in 2016.

He was free on $25,000 bail in the case, and is charged with felony counts of manufacturing a controlled substance, conspiracy, operating a meth lab, possessing chemicals and other precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, and risking a catastrophe.

His co-defendants — James C. Kidd, 22, of Center Township; and Melissa M. Cammisa — previously pleaded guilty to charges including operating a meth lab and risking a catastrophe, and both were sentenced Dec. 7 to state prison.

Kidd was sentenced to 12 to 36 months and is being held at the State Correctional Institution-Albion.

Melissa Cammisa was sentenced to 15 to 30 months. Court records showed she was recently granted parole.

McCaskill is also awaiting trial on unrelated felony drug charges in Butler County.

State police in that case arrested he and Wallar after a traffic stop in July 2017 on Route 8 in Penn Township. Both men were passengers in an Uber vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic violation.

McCaskill is accused of having 594 stamp bags of heroin. He also was carrying multiple cell phones, a loaded gun and cash.

He was free on $25,000 bail in the case, and is facing felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

Wallar pleaded guilty in the same case to a misdemeanor charge of possession with a small amount of marijuana, and was sentenced March 19 to 15 to 30 days in the county prison. He was given credit for time served and released.
