Turnpike scofflaws face suspended registrations

The vehicle registrations of more than 1,500 Butler County motorists will be suspended if their outstanding Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls aren’t paid by 7 p.m. Friday.

The Turnpike Commission reports 1,507 county motorists owe a total of $105,000 in toll violations and invoices.

Under state Law 165, which was enacted last fall, the Turnpike Commission is permitted to work with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to suspend the registrations.

Of the total 10,611 violators across the state, 1,645 already paid up.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
