Two people charged with attempted homicide after a shooting on North Sixth Avenue in April were formally arraigned Tuesday.

Raheem Robinson, 26, and Mackenzie Peters, 22, were arraigned in President Judge Thomas Doerr’s courtroom on several felony charges. Robinson was also charged with felony persons not to possess a firearm.

Both are scheduled for status conferences on July 17 and jury selection to begin on Aug. 9.

The two were charged after Butler police said they were involved in the April 5 incident on the 300 block of North Sixth Avenue, where Robinson allegedly fired shots at a group of people, which included Kirisa Taimuty, the mother of Robinson’s unborn twins. No injuries were reported.

Peters and Robinson remain held in Butler County Prison after bail was denied.

Peters is the mother of Bentley Thomas Miller, who died last year after suffering injuries in what police say was a sexual assault by Peters’ then-boyfriend, Keith J. Lambing.

She previously pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children for charges related to injuries Bentley suffered before his death as well as an 18-month-old child who police say was in the motel room and in the presence of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to 3 years of probation.
