Larry Morrison
Larry George Morrison, 72, of Slippery Rock, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
He was born July 12, 1949, in New Castle, and was of the Presbyterian faith.
He went on to attend Laurel High School, graduating in 1967.
Larry started his own business, Morrison Construction, which continues today. He was a lifelong builder, constructing many log homes with custom kitchens, hand split stone fireplaces, and ceramics; a master craftsman at many trades.
Larry was a welder at Pullman Standard, welding stainless tank cars in his early years, and later, a logger, who processed wood to use in his construction.
He was also in Union Local 2274, constructing bridges, tanks and even Heinz Field. His final days were spent outdoors on his Gator, maintaining his beautiful estate.
Larry truly enjoyed life. He played banjo at Woodstock and dug wild ginseng. Larry loved to hunt turkeys, deer, bear and raccoons most of his life. He traveled to the Western states and while there, killed mule deer and antelope. In Canada, he killed a timber wolf and a bear. Above everything, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three sons, Kevin (Nicole) Morrison of East Liverpool, Ohio, Mark Morrison of Saxonburg, and Isaac Morrison (Shea Hutchinson) of Slippery Rock; and his daughter, Vanessa Morrison of Slippery Rock.

Larry is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Laurie) Morrison of New Castle; and numerous friends.
