Thomas Kober

Thomas Shane Kober, 49 of Slippery Rock passed away at Allegheny Health Network-Grove City on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, following an extended illness.

He was born in Butler and graduated from Moniteau High School in 1990.

He was the owner/operator of Kobers Auto Center located on Route 8 in Butler. Tom was a motor enthusiast and enjoyed driving his Harley and being outdoors. He was a respected businessman, exceptional friend, and most importantly he was a devoted father.

Survivors include his daughter, Megan Kober of Slippery Rock; son, Thomas Paul Kober of Slippery Rock; father, Emmanuel Kober Jr. of Slippery Rock; mother, Lillian (Roger) Richmond of Renfrew; his former wife, Angela Kober of Butler; brother, Emmanuel “Manny” Kober III of Butler; and sister, Tammy Burke of Renfrew; three nephews and three great-nephews.

Kober — Funeral services for Thomas Shane Kober, who died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, will be privately held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock with the Rev. James Lewis of Butler, presiding. The family will gather privately prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
