Douglas Hook
Douglas Karl “Doug” Hook, 55, of Butler, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, at his residence.
Born June 18, 1966, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Karl Homer and Marjorie Ann (Mallinger) Hook of Utah.
Doug was a graduate of Penn State University with an associate degree.He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.Doug was self-employed as a carpenter in construction.He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Butler, where he was ward mission leader and Sunday school president. Doug served a mission trip to Switzerland in 1990 to 1992.Doug enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. He was a former scoutmaster for Troop 29, and achieved in 1982 the honor of Eagle Scout for Troop 558.Surviving are his wife, Golda Louise (Burson) Hook of Butler, whom he married July 28, 1993; two sons, Anthony Douglas Hook of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Benjamin Lewis Hook of Butler; four sisters and three brothers, Joy Rollins, Donna Fike, Amanda Alger, Laura Pabst, Michael Hook, David Hook and Daniel Hook; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Streb; his mother-in-law, Ethel Pearl Burson; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Floyd Burson; and his brother-in-law, Michael Rollins.HOOK — Family and friends of Douglas Karl “Doug” Hook, who died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, are invited to a visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 365 Sawmill Run Road, Butler.A service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the church with Bishop Rick Barnett officiating.Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.Arrangements are under the direction of THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler.Online condolences may be made to www.thompson-miller.com.
