Quite a day at PAC meet
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — It was quite a day for Rebecca Pennington at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Thursday.
Pennington, a Karns City graduate and freshman at Chatham University, broke the conference indoor record in the 5,000-meter run with a first-place time of 17 minutes, 58.46 seconds and also eclipsed the PAC mark in the 3,000-meter run with a winning time of 10:20.55 at Youngstown State University.
Pennington also placed second in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:20.19.
Pennington was named the meet’s track and overall MVP for her effort.
Chatham placed fourth. Westminster won the women’s meet and Grove City College was second.
Geneva College won the men’s PAC championship.
