James Gerald Shuler Sr.
James Gerald Shuler Sr., 74, of Butler passed away Tuesday evening in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 26, 1940, in Butler, he was the son of the late Daniel P. and Loretta Trimbur Shuler.
Mr. Shuler retired in 2005 from United Plate Glass after 42 years of service.
In his younger years, he attended St. Peter's Catholic School in Butler.
He enjoyed time with his family, hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. He belonged to the Old School Golf League at the Lake Arthur Golf Club and the B & W Bowling League in Butler.
He is survived by his loving children, James (Kristina) Shuler Jr. of Renfrew, Thomas (Michelle) Shuler of Butler, Dawn (Jeffrey) Felsing of Petrolia, and Eric Shuler of Butler; his five grandchildren, Brandi (Josh), Dalton, Nathan, Travis, and Mackenzie; his three great-grandchildren, Harper, Tritton and Carter, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reta Tirk Shuler, who he married on June 6, 1964, and who passed away on July 5, 2012; his four brothers, and his sister.
Shuler — Visitation for James Gerald Shuler Sr., who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, will be from 4 p.m. to services at 8 p.m. Friday in the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.
