PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired left-handed pitcher Austin Davis from the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday for a player to be named and cash considerations.

Davis, 27, was 4-1 with a 2.75 earned run average with Class AAA Lehigh Valley last season. He had 64 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched and was an International League All-Star.

He made four relief appearances for the Phillies this season before being designated for assignment Aug. 21.
