Pirates to furlough staff members
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates president Travis Williams has announced several employees of the franchise’s business operations will be placed on temporary furlough June 1.
No baseball operations staff members will be furloughed.
“I have also informed the remaining business and baseball operations employees that we will be making pay reductions for many of them beginning on June 1,” Williams said.
He also said that if games are played at PNC Park this season, “it will likely be without fans.”
