Darla L. Stewart, 58, of Butler, passed away on Jan. 26, 2022, at her residence.

She was born March 28, 1963, in Butler, and was the daughter of Charles C. Grounds and the late Roxie L. Hamilton Grounds.

Darla was a homemaker.

She was a member of Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Darla loved painting and was very artistic. She liked writing poems. Darla enjoyed singing and was a great hostess and loved her pets.

Darla is survived by her one son, Derik D. Stewart, and his fiancee, Azza, of Chicora; one daughter, Danell L. Reges, and her husband, Howard, of Butler; six grandchildren; her father, Charles C. Grounds; and one sister, Debra L. Brock, and her husband, Walter, of Butler.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, David K. Stewart, whom she married on Oct. 10, 1980, and who passed away on Sept. 27, 1999; and two brothers, Charles C. Grounds and Raymond D. Grounds.

STEWART — Friends of Darla L. Stewart, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Paul Fish of Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
