Church launches foster care initiative
Allison Park Church, which has a location in Butler, in partnership with local nonprofit Network of Hope, has launched Treasured Kids, an initiative designed to recruit, support and resource foster care and adoptive families.
With approximately 13,000 to 15,000 children in the foster care children in Pennsylvania, Allison Park Church wants to be part of the solution.
The Treasured Kids initiative has two goals. First, it is designed to recruit as many families as possible to become foster parents, adoptive parents or to provide respite care for foster and adoptive children.
The second goal of the initiative is to create support teams that come alongside foster and adoptive parents to relieve practical burdens.
