Betty J. Thomas
In memory of Betty J. Thomas, who passed away 20 years ago, March 24, 1998.
Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
She taught us how to lace our shoes,
To sit up straight in church.
She cooked the soup to perfection
As at the table we did perch.
She spoke of her days as bride to her soldier,
Praying protection each night.
“A thousand shall fall at thy side,
And ten thousand at thy right hand;
But it shall not come nigh thee.” (Psalm 91:7)
And God returned her soldier home
Safely from the fight.
She shared with us days of laughter
And also days of tears.
She planted in our hearts a seed
Of Christ’s eternal years.
And so today we remember her:
Mother, Grandmother, Friend.
And we thank our God in Heaven
For this life that He did send.
Missed, yet rejoicing
in Christ by,
Her daughter,
Charlene Richey;
Granddaughters, Beth and Steve Bash and Family, and Michele and Seth Olivieri and Family
